As Seen In
Your headshot doesn't have to be bad to be outdated.
Your career may have changed. Your role may have changed. Your business may have changed. Your audience may have changed. But your photograph may still be the same one you've been using for years. Your professional image should reflect where you are now.
Your current photograph no longer represents your professional level.
You don't love being photographed and don't know what to do in front of the camera.
Your website, LinkedIn, speaking profile and marketing materials don't present you consistently.
We solve all three.
You don't need to know how to look good in front of a camera. You need someone who knows how to bring it out of you.
Most professionals aren't models—and shouldn't have to be. We direct you through posing, expression, posture and presence so the final image feels confident and authentic rather than forced.
You bring your expertise. We handle the image.
A professional portrait takes a professional team.
Photographer / Creative Director
20+ years photographing people professionally, including actors, executives, entrepreneurs and corporate teams.
Professional Hair & Makeup
Camera-ready grooming designed specifically for professional photography.
Commercial and editorial photography rarely relies on one person doing everything. The same principle applies here. Lighting, grooming, direction, expression, styling and finishing all contribute to the final image.
This isn't just a headshot session. It's a professional portrait production.
Years of directing actors taught us something executives need too.
A great portrait isn't created by simply asking someone to smile. It comes from understanding expression, posture, eye contact, confidence and authenticity. Years of photographing actors taught Byron how to direct people who aren't naturally comfortable in front of a camera. That same expertise now helps executives and professionals look confident without looking manufactured.
You don't perform for the camera. We direct you through it.
These are people like you.
Real results from real sessions
We had a fantastic experience with Byron Medina for our team headshot session. He and his wife made us feel comfortable and provided great guidance on poses and settings. This was also our 3rd time using Byron for headshots over the past 10 years. The results were amazing as always and our headshots reflect professionalism and confidence. We have received many compliments and noticed a positive impact on my networking. I highly recommend Byron Medina and his team for anyone in need of exceptional headshots!
We hired Byron to take corporate headshots for our team, and the results were outstanding! He was professional, easy to work with, and made everyone feel comfortable during their sessions. The quality of the photos exceeded our expectations, and we couldn't be happier with the final product.
Byron is one of my favorite go-to photographers. His wife Sylvia does fantastic makeup too. I've used him for headshots for modeling and acting, my husband's physician and author headshots. I've also hired him on several occasions to shoot photos for my clinic. His photo of my husband is now on the back cover of his NYT bestselling book. That's not a job I trust to just anyone.
No guesswork. No complicated packages.
You receive preparation guidance covering wardrobe, grooming and what to expect.

Two selected portraits are professionally retouched and delivered ready for use.
Sessions are photographed at our North Scottsdale indoor/outdoor location, offering a variety of professional backgrounds and natural light settings. For added convenience, we are also available to photograph individuals and teams at your office or business location throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. We also travel out of state for company and team headshots at your place of business.
Professional grooming is included, not an optional luxury. Sylvia provides professional hair and makeup/grooming tailored to each client's needs and the intended look — natural, camera-ready application that minimizes shine, balances skin tones, and helps you look polished, confident, and your best on camera. The goal isn't to make you look different — it's to make sure you look your best while still looking like yourself.
Your custom online gallery is ready within 3 business days of your session — no long wait to see your images. Once you select your favorites, retouched finals are delivered within 2 business days, and we often deliver even sooner. Have a tight deadline? Let us know — we can typically accommodate rush requests for interviews, events, or other time-sensitive needs.
For busy professionals, getting photographed shouldn't require rearranging your day.
For executives, entrepreneurs and established professionals who want their professional image handled correctly from beginning to end.

Book Your Executive PortraitWe believe professional portraits work best when every element is considered together. Rather than asking you to decide whether you need grooming, direction, styling or additional options, we've built those essentials into the experience.
Our job is to determine what it takes to create the best image—not to sell you individual pieces of it.
CEO, C-suite, VP, director and senior management.
When your face is part of your company.
When trust and credibility matter before the first conversation.
Professional, approachable imagery for practices and professional profiles.
Portraits for speaking, media, books and professional visibility.
Consistent professional imagery across your organization.
If your professional reputation matters, your professional image should reflect it.
One visual standard. One production team. One streamlined process. Team photography is quoted based on team size, location, schedule and production requirements.
A few common questions clients ask before their professional headshots session at HeadshotsAZ. Every session includes a full prep guide sent after booking — covering everything from wardrobe strategy to on-camera coaching — so you arrive ready, confident, and set up for the best possible result.
Choose wardrobe that reflects you and your field. In general, dark, solid, muted colors photograph better than bright colors or busy patterns — they won't cast distracting color onto your skin. Neutrals like black, gray, and brown work especially well for a polished, professional look, while a favorite piece that's authentically "you" is always worth bringing too. Make sure everything is well-fitted, freshly ironed, and free of wrinkles — and it's a good idea to bring more than one option so we can find what works best together on the day.
Yes. Our professional makeup artist specializes in camera-ready makeup for print and digital use, which looks different from everyday makeup — natural, light, and polished on camera. We highly recommend it for the best results. We also assist with hair styling to make sure you look camera-ready.
Absolutely. We're happy to shoot with and without glasses so you have options. If you do wear them for your session, bringing frames without lenses (or your prescription, glare-free) helps us get the cleanest shot.
This is the most common concern we hear, and it's completely normal. Our best advice: come as yourself. The goal isn't to perform or put on a persona — it's to capture your authentic expression and confidence, the same qualities that make a great impression in person. A good night's sleep beforehand goes a long way too. We guide you through posing and expression throughout the session, so there's no need to have it all figured out before you arrive.
Yes. We regularly photograph remote employees living in the Scottsdale and Phoenix area for companies headquartered elsewhere, as well as teams visiting for retreats, offsites, or meetings. Sessions can be scheduled around your team's travel dates or your remote employee's availability.
Yes. We can shoot to match your team's existing lighting and background style, or provide raw, unedited files for your team to composite in-house — whichever fits your workflow best.
Yes. In addition to studio sessions in Scottsdale, we've completed on-location headshot sessions for companies outside of Arizona, traveling to shoot on-site at the client's location. Reach out with your location and timeline and we can discuss availability and logistics.
Yes. My photography has appeared in national and international commercial, editorial, and trade publications, including magazine covers, feature articles, and advertising campaigns.
Yes. We photograph individuals and full teams with consistent lighting, background, and style across every employee, either on-location at your Phoenix metro office or in our Scottsdale studio. We coordinate scheduling directly with your team and can invoice a single company contact for the full group.
Absolutely. We're used to coordinating logistics directly with a company contact while scheduling the actual session with the local team member, and invoicing can go to whoever handles billing on your end.
Yes. That's one of the primary reasons clients work with us. You don't need to know how to pose or what expression to make. We direct you throughout the session.
Because it is part of the production, not an optional luxury. Proper grooming affects how light interacts with skin, hair and facial features and contributes to the finished image.
Because we don't believe you should have to determine which pieces are necessary to create a professional portrait. We built the essential experience into one service.
No. We'll determine what works best based on how you intend to use the image.
Additional finished images can be added if needed. If your needs extend beyond a headshot into a broader image library, we'll recommend a branding session instead.
That's the goal.
Yes. The service is designed for established professionals, entrepreneurs, business owners and others whose professional image matters.
Your next professional opportunity may see your photograph before they meet you.
Make sure it represents you.
